We approach the new year with high hopes and anticipation of new breakthroughs in panda care and breeding. The rebuilding of the Wolong panda base will be making great progress this next year and with four pandas being sent to China to help with the breeding they will need the extra room for all of the little cubbies we hope will be born.
Here is a little video of my recent visit with two sweet pandas that live at the Memphis Zoo in the great state of Tennessee! Go Vols, as they say!
Ya Ya the female is the first one featured. She was born August 3, 2000 and we have our fingers crossed that maybe this year she will have her first cub. Her partner is Le Le, he was born on July 18, 1998. By clicking on the links to their names you can see more photos of them along with more detailed information.
