What is wowotau, you ask? Well it is specially prepared cake that is hand made at the base and I suppose its ingredients can vary but this is what I have been told it is comprised of. Soybean, ground bamboo, egg, bread flour, corn, vitamins and minerals can be added. I have seen other photos of giant pandas eating it at Fuzhou Base in Fuzhou, China, but I understand it is used throughout China for the pandas.
Thanks to chet of flickr for the photo of a staff member preparing the cakes to be steamed at the Bifengxia Base. This photo was taken back in 2008 during one of their visits there.
