Japan - Mei Mei with twins (Ai Hin, Mei Hin)
Mei Mei was living in Adventure World, Shirahama, Nishimuro, Japan, she was born at the Chengdu Giant Panda Breeding Center, China on August 31, 1994. She was brought to Japan to mate with Ei Mei on July 7, 2000. Mei had 10 cubs in her lifetime. Two were born in China before coming to Japan and 8 in Japan, one of which died right after birth. Her first cub born in Japan, Rau Hin, was due to artificial insemination that had taken place in China. Her Japanese cubs that were all conceived with natural mating with Ei Mei are:
Yu Hin (boy) December 17, 2001, now lives in Chengdu.
Ryu Hin and Shu Hin (twin boys) September 8, 2003 both live in Chengdu
Kou Hin (boy) August 23, 2005 He still lives in Japan.
Ai Hin (girl) Mei Hin (boy) twins, December 23, 2006 both still in Japan.
Her daughter Rau Hin has given birth to twins on September 13, 2008, a boy and girl.
Mei Mei passed away unexpectedly on October 15, 2008.
