Austria - Yang Yang, female
Yang Yang, arrived at the Schonbrunn Zoo, Vienna, Austria from the Wolong Giant Panda Base in March of 2003. She was born on August 10, 2000. Making the trip with her was male Long Hui of Wolong and he was also born in 2000. In 2007, with successful natural mating with Long, she bore twins, but one of the siblings did not survive. The cub that lived, was a male and later named, Fu Long. This was the first panda cub born in Europe in 25 years. She will remain with her cub until she weans him sometime between his first and second year. Then when the zoo feels the time is right she will be reunited with Long for future breeding.
